The Acorn Trust and the Wesley Trust have been working together to share best practice and further improve the schools within our respective Trusts.
The partnership has had a positive impact, and the two Trust Boards are now exploring options to build on this - resulting in a proposal to merge the Trusts into one.
The Trust has three schools. Nutgrove Methodist Primary School, in St Helens, is Outstanding, with both Rosehill Methodist Primary School and Wesley Methodist Primary School, who are in Greater Manchester, being rated as Good by Ofsted.
The Acorn Trust has two schools in Wigan and operates the Westleigh Start Well Family Centre. Bedford Hall Methodist Primary School is rated as Outstanding by Ofsted, and Westleigh Methodist Primary School is Good.
There is much about both Trusts that we already have in common. We share a Methodist ethos, a focus on primary schools, a similar approach to education and a desire to support our individual communities.
